In 1605 "Archibald and his kinsman, John Macalister, tutor of Loup,-were ordered to appear before the Privy Council and fined on surety of pain of being denounced as rebels. Alexander Macalister along with Angus Og, leader of MacDonalds of Islay were found guilty of treason and after incarceration in prison of Tolbooth in Edinburgh, they were hanged. However by 1623 Macalister of Loup was one of the justices of the peace for Argyllshire."


Angus Og MacDonald MacDonald of Islay died 1 1605 in Tolbooth Prison, Edinburgh, Scotland from hanged for trason.

Admiral Edward Spragge Sir was born after 1600. He died 1673 in in Battle with Van Tromp.

Admiral Sir Edward Spragge, of whom Pepys in a footnote on page 142 of his Diary says: He was a distinguished naval commander who perished in a boat which was sunk in an action with Van Tromp in 1673, while he was preparing to hoist his flag on board a third ship, having previously lost two in the engagement.

There is a monument to his memory in the Chapel of St. John the Evangelist in Westminster Abbey, as recorded in Stow’s Survey of London and Westminster, book 6, p. 21, which bears the inscription: Sir Edward Spragge, Kt., a brave and valiant Sea Captain, who lost his life in a sea fight against the Hollanders.
